Clutch Assembly

Clutch Assembly:
Assembling and setting the clutch is crucial in getting the best performance from your engine and also your car.

Fit the flywheel to the crankshaft of your engine. Tighten firmly and measure the distance between the top of the clutch nut (which retains the flywheel and the outer end of the crankshaft. This measurement must be between 8.4mm and 8.5mm. Assemble your clutch components and tighten the nut retaining the clutch spring to achieve a measurement of 9.6mm - 9.9mm.Secure the pinion gears onto the clutch bell.

Lubricate the thrust bearing with graphite grease and assemble. We do not recommend that you use thread lock on the clutch threaded extension stud 9711 012. Adjust the clutch end float to approx < 0.5mm.
